Anne Carroll's career has given her an extensive background
in working in the
judicial system and allowing her to use the skills necessary
to function as an
effective judge first and foremost.
For lawyers who spend the majority of their careers in litigation
practice, the skills essential for success are far different
from those required of a good judge. A litigation attorney
must read the black letter of the law with an eye toward getting
the client the result he or she desires. In litigation, they
must argue for their clients' positions instead of considering
legal issues as a judge should, that is, in an unbiased and
neutral fashion.
Although Anne has served as a litigator,
she has had far more experience than any other candidate in
applying the law to specific legal claims from the judicial
standpoint.
